We participated at the 9th Congress Mechanical Engineering Days, held in Vodice from April 9 to 12, 2025 , which this year brought together over 500 experts from across Croatia.
At the congress, we presented a review paper titled “Analysis of Smoke Control Systems in Evacuation Exits of Road Tunnels” (K. Ivanek, M. Drakulić), which was delivered by our colleague Krešimir Ivanek. The paper focuses on the analysis of mechanical ventilation systems, with an emphasis on enhancing passenger safety during the initial stages of evacuation in the event of a fire – a critically important area in the design of safety infrastructure.
In addition, Miodrag Drakulić, Ph.D. moderated the expert panel “Fire and Explosion Protection”, which addressed key issues related to Ex protection and explosion prevention measures in industrial and infrastructure facilities. The panel emphasized the importance of collaboration between designers, industry, and regulatory authorities, as well as the role of accredited laboratories in ensuring the technical compliance of equipment used in explosive atmospheres.
